ABA Seeks Input on Outcomes

The ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar has created a Special Committee on Outcome Measures.  The charge to the Committee is:

“This Committee will determine whether and how we can use output measures, rather than bar passage and job placement, in the accreditation process.”

The Committee plans to submit an interim report by May 2008.  The Committee welcomes information and ideas related to the Committee’s charge.  It is particularly interested in receiving concrete suggestions for developing outcome measures for legal education that are amenable to feasible, reliable, and verifiable assessment.

To provide information and comments, please send an email message to Legaled@staff.abanet.org no later than February 1, 2008.  The chair of the Committee is Professor Randy Hertz of the NYU School of Law.
